Do I need to be strong or fit to start?+
Nope! You don’t need any strength or fitness experience to begin. Our beginner classes are designed for complete beginners, and you’ll build all the strength you need as you move up the levels!
Everyone starts a beginner - we’ll help you discover what your body can do.
What if I feel nervous or awkward?+
That is totally normal - most people do when they first start! You’re trying something new, and that can feel big. But we promise, you’re not alone. Our instructors are here to support you on your journey, and our community will celebrate all your wins, making sure you never feel out of place 💖
Is there a right age to start pole?+
There’s no age limit on feeling strong and confident. We have students in their 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s and beyond. What matters isn’t your age - it’s your willingness to try something new!
Classes at Altitude are adult classes, so you will need to be 18+ to join, or 16+ with a parent or guardian’s consent.
What if I’m not sure my body is made for this?+
The short answer is: you absolutely can learn. Pole is for every body.
Our poles are built to support multiple people, and our beginner moves are designed to meet you where you’re at. Everyone finds different things challenging - that’s honestly part of the fun. So we say give it a go! We’ll support you at your own pace.
If you have an injury or health concern, we do recommend chatting with your doctor first.
What if I don’t like it?+
That’s completely okay - trying something new should never feel like a trap. That’s why we offer a short term, two week Starter Membership that gets you unlimited beginner classes. Try it all out and experience the community vibes for yourself, no pressure to continue if it’s not for you.
